Strawberry Cooking & Storage Tips
How to Clean and Hull Strawberries
Angle a small sharp knife and cut, in a circular motion, around the hull which is the green leafy top of the strawberry and into the pale flesh directly underneath.
It is generally removed before cooking or serving.
Wash strawberries thoroughly under cold running water before using.
Pat dry.
How to Freeze Strawberries
Before freezing, wash and hull (cut off the tops/stem) of the strawberries
Pat strawberries dry with dry paper towels
Place berries on a dry cookie sheet lined with parchment or wax paper and freeze until solid. (1 to 2 Hours) This way the strawberries will not stick together.
Put individual frozen strawberries in an airtight container or plastic bag. Enjoy them a little at a time or all at once.
